Pilates with Jasmine Lewis

When practiced well, Pilates is proven to improve posture, balance, strength and flexibility. In doing this, it can help you to decrease and manage back pain and other joint problems. As well as being great for your core abdominal muscles, Pilates is also an effective way of optimising your pelvic floor muscles, bone density and muscle mass.

Pilates with Jasmine Lewis – I am a chartered physiotherapist specialising in Pilates, rehabilitation, pelvic health and women’s health. For the past twelve years I’ve enjoyed teaching APPI Pilates (Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute) to people of all ages and at all levels, including specialist pre and post-natal classes.

There are two class styles to choose from:

  • All levels/rehab/beginners mat work Pilates class
  • Faster paced, dynamic Pilates class.

In the mat work class there is plenty of individual facilitation when you need it, and it is a safe way to exercise during and after pregnancy, if you are experiencing any spinal or joint problems, if you have osteopenia/osteoporosis, or if you have any bladder or gynaecological issues, such as a prolapse.

I recommend an initial 40 min one-2-one session if you are new to Pilates, if you have any specific rehab needs or health issues or if you are pre or post-natal. This includes a health screen and an introduction to the key principles of Pilates, helping me to evaluate at which level you can begin and ensures that you make the most of your classes.

The initial one-2-one assessment is charged at £25 when you sign up for a six week block of classes. Everyone completes a health screen questionnaire before starting classes.

Class venue:
Profiles fitness studio, 16 Keymer Road, Hassocks West Sussex BN6 8AN

Private classes:
Pilates 1-2-1 sessions also available with Jasmine in Hassocks – £60 for an hour.
